Why did you decide to become a therapist/counselor?

Having people in my life that have been able to listen well and support me through hard times showed me just how much a difference that can make, and it spurred me on to see how I could best do that for others.

What do you love most about working with clients?

Those moments when they realize that they’re not alone and that the chances are good that everyone has felt the way they have at some point in their lives! It never gets old seeing that someone truly understands that someone else understands them.

What’s the hardest lesson you’ve learned?

When and who to trust. I think a lot of us have to learn some of these lessons the hard way, and I’m no exception.

What are some things you’ve had to unlearn?

Being so hard on myself. I’ve found that like many, I am my own worst critic, and that oftentimes I just need to give myself permission to make a mistake from time to time.

What’s the best way to start your day?

Nice, hot cup of coffee! I’m also a self-professed coffee nerd, so I love the process from start to finish. From the smell of the beans as they first hit the grinder, to that first sip, there’s something about the process that’s so therapeutic for me!

What hobby would you get into if time and money weren’t an issue?

Traveling.

What would be your first question after waking up from being cryogenically frozen for 100 years?

Where’s the coffee?

What makes a good life?

Doing something worth doing and having people willing to love you at your worst.

What do you want to be remembered for?

That I learned to love and be loved.
